By Melanie Becker-Donovan, Roswell Daily Record — Events this past weekend were held successfully, with just a few minor changes. However, the Thrill the World Dance & Bazaar that was scheduled for Saturday is reportedly cancelled due to a low participation count.
Good news for Roswell residents: the 2026 Jazz Festival went off successfully with no major issues. “I was able to work from home to ensure that the festival was successful,” said Michael Francis, the festival’s artistic director. Francis had to work remotely due to health conditions.
The Night of the Living Metal has been relocated to the American Legion but was still held on schedule. Circus Golden Star had to postpone, but they were also able to have one last showing on Saturday.
The Chaves County community, when faced with inclement weather, refused to surrender to the elements. Showing how resilient residents can be when it comes to keeping scheduled events on track through last-minute changes.
