By Kevin Hendricks, The Paper. —  Rio Rancho police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man who died Thursday morning in the parking lot of Presbyterian Family Medicine, according to a police news release.

Officers responded at about 9:52 a.m. to the clinic at 4100 High Resort Blvd. SE after a report of a man who was unconscious and not breathing. When officers arrived, emergency medical crews were already working to save him. He did not survive, police said.

The man had become aggressive, and the family members with him restrained him, according to the release. Police did not say how they restrained him, what led to the confrontation or why the group was at the clinic.

Police are treating the death as a homicide until investigators learn more, the release states. Police have not announced any arrests or charges, and they have not identified the man.
