What better way to spend a crisp Saturday afternoon enjoying family, food and fun? How about an artistic backdrop for those activities.
The third annual Fiesta de Musica y Cultura hits the Bernalillo Recreation Center this week, with Guillermo Calderon and some special guests providing the music. There will also be food, local vendors and family friendly activities.
Christina Jones, economic & community development director for the Town of Bernalillo, told the Sandoval Signpost that around 200 people attended last year’s event. “The event is for the community, but we do get people from Placitas and Rio Rancho,” she said.
Jones said Musica y Cultura is a place to have a good time and a chance to celebrate the community’s culture.
She said the event will be a success if it’s enjoyed by all who attend. The Fiesta runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 17, and the rec center is at 307 Rotary Park Road.
