The summer swimming season ends with a splash — but not for humans. Rio Rancho’s annual Pooch Plunge took over Haynes Pool at Haynes Park on Saturday, Sept. 12, giving local dogs one last dip before the outdoor pools close for the season. The City of Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation & Community Services event drew dogs of all breeds for a morning of canine chaos, tennis balls and pure, unfiltered joy. Animal rescue groups were also on hand with adoptable pets looking for forever homes. Star photographer Roberto E.
