The Bernalillo Police Department is asking for help finding a vehicle and its driver believed to be involved in an incident that killed a teenager last week.
A 15-year-old boy was struck and killed by a truck Nov. 29 near Avenida Bernalillo. The truck, believed to be a red Dodge RAM 1500, possibly a model from 2019 to 2024, left the scene after hitting the boy.
Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers posted a photo of the truck Dec. 9 and asked the public to help find who is responsible for the fatal hit-and-run.
“The incident occurred on Avenida Bernalillo when a juvenile walking on the side of the road was struck by a vehicle. The juvenile was tragically pronounced dead at the scene,” according to Crime Stoppers. “Witnesses report the truck was seen driving eastbound on Avenida Bernalillo at the time of the incident.”
