Itโ€™s Election Day across New Mexico, and hereโ€™s what you need to know middayโ€ฆ

Candidates are spreading out across the state to make their last-minute pitches to voters.ย

Bonus: Don’t miss our report of a raucus council meeting and details of ABQ’s new minimum wage ordinance council sent to the mayor last night. Read it below.

We caught up with Sam Bregman, Democrat running for governor, talking with seniors at the Barelas Senior Center and Deb Haaland waving to voters along Coors on the Westside this morning before heading to Sandoval County midday.

Doug Turner and Gregg Hull, the leading Republicans for governor, were also making the rounds in the metro this morning.

So, who is showing up to vote? Editor Kevin Hendricks breaks down the early voting turnout numbers โ€“ including how many independent/DTS voters exercised their choice to vote in a party primary this time – and whether mid-morning turnout data today gives us any insight into how well all that last-minute campaign spending turned out Election Day voters who could change the momentum in some tight races.

Still havenโ€™t voted? Find a voting convenience center (and a sample ballot) here. The League of Women Voters also has a summary of each race and candidate in their online guide.

Then, donโ€™t forget to join our publisher Pat Davis and Darren White today at 1 pm on KKOB 96.3 FM and streaming at kkobnews.com for a bipartisan analysis of all of these races and more.

Weโ€™ll also break down all the post-election coverage and handicap the November matchups in our coverage tomorrow online and in print. Think ABQ needs news that inspires community action, not report what already happened? So do we.
Unlike other papers that hide important news from a city council meeting and features in arts & culture behind paywalls and popups, The Paper. is always free because we believe information about how our city works belongs to everyone – not just those who can afford to pay.

To keep it free and pay our journalists and contributors a living wage, we rely on donations from readers who can afford to help. Advertisers and sponsors pay to deliver it, but readers fund our stories.

If you found something in today’s paper that inspired you to do something, tip the journalists who wrote it.
