You rely on the Comment. We rely on you.
This #GivingTuesday, give the gift of local news

Have you noticed you no longer have to pay to get the Corrales Comment delivered?
We listened when readers told us that managing subscriptions, mailing checks, and updating credit cards had become a pain. So, we changed our model. Now, we send the Comment to every household and businessโand keep our reporting free onlineโso everyone stays informed.
We just ask a favor in return.
Truthfully, the paper doesnโt pay its bills on its own. Printing and delivery costs have jumped almost 25% since 2023 and many Village businesses we rely on for advertising are also pinching pennies to manage their own rising costs.
We rely on our partnership with the nonprofit Citizen Media Group to fill the gap.
The local nonprofit bundles donations from readers in Corrales and grants them back to our newsroom to pay the journalists covering the Village Council, MRGCD, and county commission. Reader support also powered our 2025 election coverage, and itโs essential for covering the new mayor and statewide races in 2026.
If just half of our readers donate the equivalent of $5 a month ($60/year), we could double the local stories we cover in Corrales. Thatโs a community investment worth making.
Can we count on you to include local journalism in your #GivingTuesday plans?
You rely on the Comment all year round. We rely on you now.
Thank you!

Did you see? A new survey from UNM and Press Forward NM found that โ of New Mexicans say they no longer have access to trustworthy local news. If you are reading this, you arenโt one of them because Corrales cares enough to support local journalism that keeps us all informed. Thank you!
