Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument has been recognized as one of TIME’s World’s Greatest Places of 2025, according to an announcement made recently. The monument, managed by the Bureau of Land Management, is among 100 destinations worldwide to receive this honor.

Known for its distinctive cone-shaped tent rock formations, or hoodoos, which range up to 90 feet tall, Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument is a popular spot for hiking, birdwatching and geological exploration in Sandoval County. The site features national recreation trails and offers visitors a chance to observe unique plant life.

“The monument is a special place that BLM and Pueblo de Cochiti worked diligently together to reopen after being closed since the pandemic,” said BLM Albuquerque District Manager Sabrina Flores. “This special place provides a cherished visitor experience. It’s an honor to be recognized throughout the world as one of the greatest.”

Visitors to Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument must make reservations through recreation.gov, where a limited number of daily passes are available. Additional information about fees, closures, and other details can be found on the monument’s official webpage.
