The Roswell Coyotes football team defeated Goddard 42-35 on Friday in the final game of the regular season.
The Rockets gave the Coyotes a run for their money, and the game came down to an onside kick after Goddard scored with just 28 seconds to go. The kick went out of bounds, giving Roswell the ball. The Roswell offense entered victory formation, and the rest was history.
Roswell coach Jeff Lynn gave a positive message following the game.
“Roswell has a lot to be proud of,” he said. “We got two good football teams here, and (I’m) excited to see what both of us do in the playoffs.”
The Coyotes end the regular season with a 9-1 overall record and stayed undefeated in district play at 7-0. The Rockets fell to 4-6 overall and 3-4 in district play.
