Roswell Daily Record

Today is Friday, Oct. 9 and digital subscribers are getting an early look at our new Weekend Edition of the Roswell Daily Record AND our new Friday Sports preview email from our new sports reporter Josh Franklin. Let’s dig in…

Welcome to our new Friday sports email!

With both football teams on a bye, Iโ€™m looking ahead to Roswellโ€™s trip to Artesia for the stateโ€™s oldest rivalry as the Coyotes try to stay perfect in district play, plus Goddardโ€™s push for back-to-back wins and better playoff positioning against Mayfield at the Wool Bowl.

Without Friday football games, I also had time to check in on Roswell dual-sport phenom Debrice Ashung, now at 37 goals this season, who also scored a 98-yard touchdown and a hat trick in five days. On the pitch, the Coyotes head to Clovis for a rematch after Thursdayโ€™s 4-3 win before hosting Hobbs next Saturday.

I hope you like our new Friday sports email and our expanding sports coverage in the RDR. Give it a read and tell me what you think: josh.franklin@rdrnews.com
