By Kevin Hendricks, The Paper. — Families looking for a Halloween-week outing with a little more buzz can trade the candy corn for chocolate crickets Thursday at Bernalillo Bug Night.
The Sandoval County Cooperative Extension Service hosts the free event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at El Zocalo Plaza Event Center, 264 S. Camino del Pueblo in Bernalillo. Visitors can meet live insects, make crafts, grab dinner from food trucks and learn why bugs deserve more credit than the flyswatter gives them, according to an event flyer from New Mexico State University’s Extension office.
A monster movie screening caps the night at 7 p.m.
Admission costs nothing, but organizers require registration. Residents can sign up online or call the Extension office at 505-867-2582.
