Music lovers in Placitas won’t have to drive far for a summer concert series that doubles as a fundraiser for local nonprofits, with three shows scheduled between July and September at Placitas Homestead Village.

The series kicks off July 12 at 7 p.m. with an American Jazz Celebration featuring Jazz Traveler and the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra, benefiting Rebuilding Together Sandoval County.

On August 16 at 7 p.m., Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Ryan Montaño headlines a soul, funk and jazz show with vocalists Andrew Cooper and Rebecca Arscott, raising money for Placitas Elementary School.

The series closes September 6 at 6 p.m. with a Labor Day Blues Festival featuring Jay Boy Adams with Zenobia & Woody Key, Big Suitcase and The Rudy Boy Experiment, benefiting Happy Rascal Ranch.
