Opera Southwest: Aida (Wed. 25, Performance)

Opera Southwest mounts “the grandest of grand operas” with a staging of Giuseppe Verdi’s old Egypt-set masterpiece Aida. Michelle Johnson (2023’s Turandot 2023 and 2019’s Lohengrin) returns in the title role, alongside Olivia Vote (2025’s Verdi’s Requiem and 2018’s Norma) as Amneris. Moving Stories: The NeverEnding Story (Fri. 26, Dance)

Hiland Company Dancers choreograph a fantastical live performance based on Michael Ende’s classic modern fairy tale about the power of imagination. Route 66 Centennial Speaker Series (Sat. 28, Lecture)

The Albuquerque Historical Society, the East Mountain Historical Society, Historic Albuquerque Inc. and the Los Ranchos Historical Society have joined forces to celebrate this year’s anniversary of The Mother Road. Once a month, libraries and museums throughout the Albuquerque metro are presenting a full slate of free lectures on various topics surrounding the history of Route 66. Saturday, Feb. 28 starting at 11 a.m. a dozen venues (from The Wheels Museum to the International District Library) are participating. 24th Annual KlezmerQuerque (Fri. 6, Festival)

KlezmerQuerque is an annual celebration of Jewish arts and culture, including Klezmer and traditional Jewish music, Yiddish language, songs and dance, concerts, Shabbat services and hands-on workshops. It happens at Congregation Nahalat Shalom (3606 Rio Grande Blvd. NW) on Friday, March 6, 6:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 8, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets to the Saturday night concert, or any of the individual workshops are $18. Albuquerque Little Theatre (224 San Pasquale Ave. SW) sets sail on Cole Porter’s high-stepping, high-seas musical Anything Goes starting Friday, March 6. Timeless hits like “I Get a Kick Out of You” and “You’re the Top” are among the highlights of this beloved Broadway classic.
