Matt Armenta held a lead in the race for Tijeras village councilor Tuesday night, capturing 39% of the vote with partial returns from all four precincts, according to unofficial election results as of 10 p.m.
Armenta had 143 votes, followed by Jonathan Ortiz with 132 votes, or 36%. Gloria Chavez trailed with 69 votes (19%), while Joseph Patron had 25 votes (7%). A total of 369 votes had been counted, though no precinct had fully reported.
In school board races, Linda Hudson ran unopposed for the District 1 seat on the Moriarty-Edgewood School Board, receiving 109 votes with partial returns from all nine precincts. Windie Burns also ran uncontested for the District 5 seat, collecting 275 votes with partial returns from all 10 precincts in that district.
The results remained incomplete Tuesday night, with no precincts fully reporting in the councilor race.
