The Torrance County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for a man’s arrest in McIntosh after he allegedly threatened his neighbors with a handgun near the Dollar General near NM-41 and Shondale Lane on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Officers arrived to meet the victim and his girlfriend at the Dollar General parking lot. The victim’s girlfriend said she saw the victim and the suspect get into a verbal dispute near their property, located just down the road. She said the suspect threatened to kill them and burn down the trailer on their property.
The suspect told officers that his property is next to the victims’, and that he is tired of their light pointing toward his property. He told officers that he was also “tired of” the victim and his girlfriend “harassing him.” He denied pulling out a gun during the argument, but admitted to taking a picture of the victim’s truck.
According to the police report, the incident is connected to a different active investigation, in which the same suspect is also accused of committing a burglary at the same victim’s residence.
