The Town of Mountainair will host a community breast cancer walk Saturday, Oct. 11, at 8:30 a.m. at Chavez Park.
The event honors breast cancer survivors, patients and those who have died from the disease, as well as recognizing all cancers affecting community members and their families, according to Municipal Judge Michelle Archuleta.
Participants will walk a route from Cedar to Ranger Station Road, beginning and ending at Chavez Park. Community members who cannot walk due to health reasons are encouraged to attend and show support at the park.
Pastor Joseph Snodgrass will offer a prayer before the walk begins. Water and granola bars will be provided afterward.
The walk aims to bring the community together “in strength, remembrance, and hope,” Archuleta said.
