The Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood identified vandalism Sunday morning.
According to an email by the church, the worship pastor found graffiti on the north and east sides of the building early Sunday morning.
The church expressed its gratitude to the community for helping to clean up the vandalism.
“An amazing amount of people showed up yesterday afternoon to help remove the graffiti with power washers and cleaners,”according to the email.
The multiple locations of graffiti included racist and offensive statements.
NM.news reached out to Valley View and Edgewood Police Department and verified the ongoing investigation into these crimes.
“Vally view is an amazing group of Christ followers. From the people who showed up, to those who expressed amazing compassion for the church, I am thankful for a body of believers who are so devoted to their church family and to Jesus,” the email stated.
