The Town of Edgewood will host its “Dumpster Days” event on August 16-17, providing residents with a convenient opportunity to dispose of bulk household items and debris.

The community service event will take place at the Roads Department facility located at 20 Municipal Way. Residents must bring valid identification to participate in the program, which is exclusively available to Edgewood residents.

According to town officials, residents may bring items using trucks, standard passenger vehicles and ATV trailers. However, tandem axle trailers will not be permitted at the site. Town staff reserve the right to redirect vehicles to local landfill or transfer stations if necessary.

The event will begin Saturday morning, with Sunday availability dependent on dumpster capacity. “If dumpsters don’t fill up Saturday, we will re-open on Sunday morning and stay open only until dumpsters are full,” town officials stated in the announcement.

Residents are strongly advised not to leave trash after hours or outside the designated dumpsters. The town emphasized that all items must be placed inside the provided dumpsters during operating hours.

Due to landfill regulations, several categories of items cannot be accepted during Dumpster Days. Prohibited items include freezers, ice makers, tires, large metal drums, medical waste, paint, glass, ashes, asbestos materials, contaminated soil, hazardous household waste, batteries, concrete materials and railroad ties.

The monthly Dumpster Days program runs from May through October each year, serving as a regular community service for Edgewood residents to dispose of items that cannot be handled through regular trash collection services.

Residents with questions about acceptable items or event logistics are encouraged to contact the Town of Edgewood Roads Department for clarification before arriving at the disposal site.
