U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury is launching a trio of town halls in mid-June, aimed at engaging directly with constituents and highlighting civic education, community involvement and discussion on local and national issues. 

The events include both virtual and in-person formats, each tailored to address specific community needs.

Each town hall will feature different distinguished guest speakers, bringing fresh perspectives to each unique topic. 

This is part of Stansbury’s ongoing effort to engage residents face-to-face and address the questions and concerns of the community. 

With over 15,000 constituents participating in her events over the past year, Stansbury has made civic accessibility a defining feature of her office.

After Stansbury kicked off the series with a town hall in Downtown Albuquerque Saturday, the remaining town hall schedule is: 

  • Veterans Town Hall – June 17

On Tuesday, June 17, Stansbury will host a Veterans Town Hall focused on issues affecting New Mexico’s veteran community. 

The event will take place from 5-6 p.m. at Manzano High School cafeteria and will feature a panel of veteran leaders including:

State Rep. Debbie Sariñana, USAF Veteran

State Sen. Harold Pope, USAF Veteran

Frank Smith, USMC Veteran

Topics include access to affordable housing, transportation, job opportunities, VA healthcare, local VA services and mental health resources.

  • Virtual “Know Your Rights” Town Hall – June 18

Rounding out the schedule is a Virtual Know Your Rights Town Hall on Wednesday, June 18, from noon-1:30 p.m. 

Open to all constituents, the virtual forum will focus on civil rights awareness and government accountability, equipping participants with tools and knowledge to advocate for themselves and their communities.
