The town of Edgewood thanked the community and Sun Valley Rides for a great weekend filled with family fun.
Edgewood saw a strong turnout for its annual summer carnival, a gathering filled with crowds and fun for everyone.
The event, hosted in partnership with Sun Valley Rides, featured a variety of rides, games and food vendors.
While the Town does not track attendance due to the event’s free entry, officials are awaiting an estimated count from Sun Valley Rides.
Social media photos posted by the Town show large crowds enjoying the attractions and comments have been all but positive.
This summer staple is not only a seasonal highlight but a financial asset for the town, according to Community Liaison Linda Burke. Rather than costing the Town money, the event generates revenue.
“The town actually receives proceeds from the carnival. Those proceeds more than offset the limited costs for the Town to host the Carnival–additional portable restrooms, a roll-off dumpster, and parking lot lighting,” Burke said.
In 2024, those proceeds totaled approximately $12,000. Final numbers for 2025 are still pending, but officials are optimistic that this year’s success will bring in a similar outcome.
“Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the Edgewood Carnival this weekend,” the Town wrote in a Facebook post. “Big thanks to Sun Valley Rides and Town Staff who jumped in to bring it all together for the community. We hope everyone had a great time.”
