The Town of Bernalillo hosts two “free dump days” each year for Town residents on both the third Saturday in May and November. In collaboration with the Sandoval County Landfill and the Town’s Public Works Department, the Town provides free dumping either at the Public Works Yard (no trailers) or at the Sandoval County Landfill (trailers allowed).

“Keep Bernalillo Beautiful” is an initiative designed to empower residents of Bernalillo and provide opportunities to keep our community clean of weeds, trash, and expired and/or unused prescription medication. Proof of Bernalillo residency required. For more info, visit tobnm.gov.

PNM Warns of Scammers

PNM is warning New Mexico residents of possible scammers trying to gain access to their homes by posing as PNM workers. There have been reports across New Mexico of individuals who claim they are PNM employees requesting access to customers’ homes. They tell the customer they need to get into their backyards via the front door to measure equipment or other false claims.

PNM officials say the only time access is requested to the inside of a home is if a customer has scheduled an appointment with PNM, for certain services like a free PNM Home Energy Checkup. Should a customer have someone claiming to be from PNM request access to the inside of their home, do not allow them in. If a customer feels threatened, they should call the local authorities immediately. If you ever question whether the person is a legitimate PNM employee, call 888-DIAL-PNM (1-888-342-5766) to verify their identity and reason for the visit.
