The town of Mountainair welcomed a new officer to its Police Department.
Mountainair’s Mayor Peter Nieto personally recommended Officer Steven Aragon, expressing his confidence in his ability and the enrichment he will bring to both the department and the community.
After approval from the Mountainair Town Council last week, Aragon officially began his duties Jan. 29.
Aragon, a retired law enforcement professional with over 15 years of service, served the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and gained extensive law enforcement experience and knowledge.
“His skills, leadership, and commitment to public safety will not only strengthen our department but also contribute to the well-being of our entire community,” said Nieto.
Aragon’s qualifications and background were carefully reviewed by Nieto and Police Chief Paul Lucero, who concurred that “he will be an invaluable asset to the Mountainair Police Department.”
“His dedication to public safety and his proven track record in the field will help strengthen our efforts to keep Mountainair a safe and welcoming place for all residents,” added Nieto. “We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our department and the town.”
Nieto thanked the Mountainair Town Council for selecting Aragon to join the Mountainair Police Department and assured him that his track record would make him an asset to the community.
“The Town of Mountainair is pleased to welcome Officer Steven Aragon to the Mountainair Police Department,” Nieto said. “With many years of experience in law enforcement, Officer Aragon brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to serving our community. We look forward to the positive impact he will have in Mountainair.”
