This truck is believed to be involved in the abandoning of a dog in Mountainair on Jan. 9

The Friends of Mountainair Animal Shelter announced on social media Jan. 9 that a dog was dumped at a town gas station earlier that morning.

According to the social media post, someone in a blue Toyota Tacoma dumped a male husky or husky mix at the gas station around 10 a.m.

The dog is safe, but Mountainair police are looking for who dumped the dog.

Anyone with information about the dog or the truck is asked to contact Mountainair Police at 505-847-9210 or Animal Control Officer Jennifer at 505-705-0099.

The social media post also thanked “the concerned citizen who saw the dog being dumped” and the shelter know.
