A power outage Monday night left thousands in the East Mountains without electricity.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) reported that 2,188 PNM customers were affected. The outage also impacted the state radio system at Cedro Peak, disrupting network services, dispatch consoles and radio communications. Technicians were dispatched to resolve the issue.
Despite the widespread outage, BCSO confirmed that it remained fully operational and that emergency services were unaffected. According to the PNM website, power has since been restored to all customers in the East Mountains.
However, the possibility of further outages remains, as strong winds are forecasted for Tuesday. PNM crews continue monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond to new incidents.
