The town of Edgewood will hold its annual holiday celebration Dec. 5, featuring a Twinkle Light Parade, tree lighting ceremony and the kickoff of Route 66 Centennial festivities.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with the Twinkle Light Parade, which will travel along Municipal Way and New Mexico 344 before concluding at Venus Park, located at 181 NM 344.
Santa Claus will arrive following the parade, leading into the town tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. at Venus Park.
From 7 to 9 p.m., families can enjoy photos with Santa, caroling, holiday movie trivia, cookies and hot beverages. The celebration will also feature games, refreshments and music throughout the evening.
The event marks the beginning of the town’s participation in the Route 66 Centennial Celebration, commemorating the historic highway’s 100th anniversary.
