The Town of Edgewood is kicking off the month of October with the announcement of special events for community members of all ages. From outdoor athletics to movie nights, there’s an activity for everyone as the days get cooler and shorter.
“Our big one for October will probably be the Trunk or Treat, which is usually huge,” Community Liaison Linda Burke said. “We usually see about 1,500 people come through.”
The Trunk or Treat event, which takes place on the evening of Halloween at Venus Park, is seeking out “trunkers” to participate, Burke said.
Another highlight, she said, takes place the following day at the Zombie 5k Fun Run & Walk. The event starts and ends at Venus Park, and costumes are encouraged. Honors for best costumes in each age category will be awarded.
The fun isn’t just for the end of the month, though — there’s at least one event every week this month so community members can prolong the joy.
