Early voting begins Tuesday for the Nov. 4 Regular Local Election in Santa Fe and Torrance counties, with voters able to cast ballots in nonpartisan races for municipal offices, school boards and special districts.
In Santa Fe County, early voting starts Oct. 7 at the County Clerk’s Office at 240 Grant Ave., with expanded voting beginning Oct. 18 at additional locations throughout the county. Santa Fe County voters can choose any early voting location to cast their ballot.
Key voting dates
Early voting runs through Nov. 1, with no voting locations open Nov. 2-3. Election Day is Nov. 4, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 13 is Indigenous People’s Day, when no early voting locations will be open.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 21, with ballots requiring up to seven days for mail delivery each way.

- Santa Fe Mayor
- Santa Fe City Council – One seat from each of the four districts
- Edgewood Municipal Judge
- Edgewood Town Commission – Districts 1, 2, 4 and 5
School Board Elections:
- Española Public School Board – Positions 2 and 3
- Pojoaque Public School Board – Positions 4 and 5
- Santa Fe Public School Board – Districts 3 and 5
- Moriarty-Edgewood Public School Board – Positions 1, 3 and 5
- Santa Fe Community College Board – Positions 3 and 5 (six-year terms)

New Features
Santa Fe County is introducing a new “vote by appointment” system at four locations, allowing early voters to schedule a time to cast their ballot and skip lines. Voters can make appointments online at telegov.egov.com/santafecountyclerk/ or by calling 505-986-6280.
Same-day voter registration is available at every polling location in both counties for voters who need to register or update their registration.
