Cactus Road will be closed to through traffic Sept. 29-30 for a chipseal paving project, town officials announced.
The road construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, according to a notice from the Town of Edgewood and Edgewood Police Department.
Chipseal is a pavement treatment that involves applying a layer of asphalt followed by aggregate chips. A sealer coat will be applied after the surface cures, which typically takes two to three weeks.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use alternate routes, including Quail Trail or enter the neighborhood using Park Road or Pinon Road.
The Edgewood Police Department reminded drivers that traffic fines are doubled in construction zones.
The project is part of ongoing road maintenance efforts in the area.
