The town of Edgewood is asking residents to help shape its visual identity through a new design survey focused on wayfinding and community character.
The survey, conducted in partnership with New Mexico MainStreet, seeks public input on sign designs, site furnishing styles and plant palettes that best reflect Edgewood’s unique character. The initiative supports the town’s first key planning theme from its 2025 Comprehensive Plan: “Create a sense of community character and identity unique to Edgewood.”
“We’re conducting a wayfinding design and planning process to develop a system of signs and other features to improve how people get around in town,” according to the survey announcement.
The nine-question survey takes approximately five to 10 minutes to complete and collects anonymous data from participants. Residents can access the survey online or by visiting bit.ly/462UUeQ.
The wayfinding project aims to create a cohesive system of directional signs and visual elements throughout Edgewood to help both residents and visitors navigate the community more easily while reinforcing the town’s distinct identity.
New Mexico MainStreet is a state program that works with communities to revitalize their downtown areas and strengthen local economies through historic preservation and economic development initiatives.
The survey is currently open for public participation, though officials have not announced a closing date for responses.
