The Edgewood Town Commission will meet on Tuesday to discuss a proposed ordinance to protect local water resources during its regular meeting.

The commission will hold a public hearing on Sept. 23 regarding an ordinance designed to safeguard the community’s water supply, according to the meeting agenda. The item calls for both a workshop and a public hearing to allow resident input on the proposed regulations.

Personnel matters dominate much of Tuesday’s agenda, with commissioners considering the appointment of K.R. Scott to the Lodgers Tax Advisory Board and reviewing an alternate judge position. The commission will also discuss overtime pay procedures for the police department.

The meeting includes consideration of a letter supporting preservation of the historic Sandia Crest House, a popular mountain recreation destination east of Albuquerque.

Under ordinances and resolutions, commissioners will review three Transportation Project Fund match waiver applications — two for street projects on West Venus and Dinkle roads, and one trails grant application for ECHO Ridge Park.

Regular reports will be presented by the community liaison, town clerk-treasurer, police chief and town manager.

The commission meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Edgewood Town Hall Commission Chambers, 171A NM 344. The meeting will be livestreamed on the town’s YouTube channel. Public comment is welcome during the designated portion of the meeting.
