The Town of Edgewood has been awarded $10,272 in grant funding from the New Mexico Tourism Department to support its monthly community cleanup initiative.
The grant will fund Edgewood’s “Dumpster Days” program during fiscal year 2026, according to a news release from the town. Edgewood was among 71 communities statewide to receive funding this year — the highest number in the program’s history.
“Observing the number of communities participating in this program continues to grow, demonstrates there is a real need for cleanup and beautification efforts, and we’re grateful to contribute to those efforts through this program,” Acting Secretary Lancing Adams of the New Mexico Department of Tourism said in a statement.
The Dumpster Days program provides residents with free monthly cleanup events from April through October. Since launching in 2020, the initiative has offered convenient drop-off services for trash, cardboard, yard waste and recyclables.
Four cleanup events remain scheduled for 2025: Saturday, Sept. 27; Sunday, Sept. 28; Saturday, Oct. 18; and Sunday, Oct. 19. Following a winter break, the program will resume in April 2026.
