The sixth annual Pirate Viking Summer Festival will transform Edgewood into a swashbuckling spectacle this weekend, Aug. 23-24, featuring five stages of entertainment, historical demonstrations and family-friendly activities at Wildlife West Nature Park.

Festival organizers said tickets remain available for the two-day event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at multiple venues, including the Ole Barn Stage, Queens Amphitheater and Viking Village Stage.

“We have something for everyone,” according to the festival announcement. That includes music performances, belly dancing, fire shows and comedy acts across its five performance areas.

Children 17 and under receive free admission when accompanied by an adult, according to festival materials. Activities designed for all ages include tomato toss games, axe throwing, water balloon fights and face painting.

The festival will also feature educational components, including a Viking history tent and “The Festival Quest,” which organizers describe as an immersive experience using “Mordakin’s Eye” technology.

Saturday evening programming includes adult-oriented entertainment and a costume contest for “sexiest Viking” contestants, both male and female categories. The grand prize winner receives $250 and a 2026 festival package.

Performance highlights include the Shamshir & Mahatma Tribal belly dance performances, Tea & Strumpets musical acts and the Nordic Daughter show, according to the festival schedule.

The event also includes historical demonstrations at Pirates Cove Stage featuring “Brethren of the Sunken Skull” at multiple times throughout both days.

Tickets and additional information are available at PirateVikingSummerFestival.com.

The festival is sponsored by Champion Windows, Sunrooms and Home Exteriors, and the Town of Edgewood.
