At the Civic Center on Wednesday, Aug. 13, the Moriarty City Council is set to make decisions that could significantly shape the city’s infrastructure, budgeting and public safety landscape for years to come.
This meeting is expected to spark discussion and provide direction on major planning issues for the future of the city.
Key Items on the agenda include:
- Resolution #25‑26‑01, Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) for 2027–2031:
The council will consider adopting a long-term infrastructure plan aimed at identifying and prioritizing major capital projects over the next five years. The resolution sets the stage for strategic planning and funding efforts, with a related proposal calling for a public hearing to gather community feedback on the ICIP. - Fiscal Year 2025–2026 Budget Adjustments, Presentation by City Clerk Deborah Liu:
Proposed amendments to the current fiscal year’s budget will be presented, potentially addressing evolving needs, shifting city priorities or unforeseen expenditures. These adjustments reflect the administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure fiscal responsiveness and transparency. - Resolution #25‑26‑04, Police Plan 5 Coverage Funding Shift:
The council will evaluate a proposal to increase the city’s contribution to 75% of Plan 5 health insurance coverage for police officers. To offset the increased cost, the plan suggests eliminating one police officer position.
