As more families face difficult times, the East Mountain Food Pantry is stepping up and asking the community for help to continue its mission of feeding those in need.
The nonprofit, which serves food-insecure families across Bernalillo, Santa Fe and Torrance counties, is seeking donations of several high-demand staples:
- Pasta
- Rice
- Dried beans
- Canned beans
- Vegetables
- Tomato soup
- Peanut butter
In 2024, the pantry served 1,408 families, delivering a total of 7,864 services. Located at 1342 NM-333, Suite B in Tijeras, the organization provides monthly food boxes, weekly fresh produce and ongoing support to families from Carnuel to Moriarty and Golden to Mountainair.
Pantry hours:
- Monday: 2–4 p.m.
- Tuesday: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Wednesday: 1–5 p.m.
- Thursday: 12–4 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
(Closed Fridays)
The East Mountain Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All contributions are tax-deductible and receipts are available upon request.
Supporters can also donate online through two secure options:
- PayPal Giving Fund – No fees; requires a PayPal account
- Regular PayPal – Accepts credit cards but includes processing fees

To qualify for assistance, families must live within the pantry’s service area and meet income eligibility guidelines based on household size.
Families receiving SNAP benefits automatically qualify. Full details are available under the Eligible? tab on the pantry’s website.
The pantry is run entirely by volunteers and receives strong support from five local churches. It is also a proud partner of Roadrunner Food Bank.
In addition to ongoing operations, the pantry hosts events and receives ongoing support through Facebook fundraisers organized by residents.
There are several ways to get involved:
