The Albuquerque Isotopes don’t want to look for a new home and now, they won’t have to. Fresh off a sale to a new owner, the ‘Topes are staying in “The Lab” through 203 after Albuquerque’s City Council quietly and unanimously approved a deal Monday night.
The council approved the Isotopes’ new lease agreement, which addresses revenues that include rent, ticket sales and concession revenues. The cost of this agreement is $1.2 million and is funded through “Sports Stadium Operating Fund-691”.
The revenue that will be brought into the city starts with the Istotopes annual rent of $750,000, along with concessions revenue which will be based on a percentage of all revenue.
City Desk reached out for a public comment from the Isotopes and City Councilor Nichole Rogers about this project. Neither had responded by press time.
