The Moriarty City Council will discuss hiring five new police officers when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the City of Moriarty Civic Center, 202 Broadway Street South.

In addition to possibly approving hiring the new officers, the City Council is also scheduled to discuss a police incentive plan for a general instructor, firearms instructor, evidence technician and field officer training.

Future Farmers of America is also asking the City Council for approval to show movies in Crossley Park from June 13 through July 25. The movies will be funded by $5,000 of lodgers tax funding and remaining funds would be awarded to the FFA program.
