Thousands of New Mexicans are expected to join a nationwide protest against what organizers call the Trump administration’s “growing authoritarian regime” at the “No Kings Day” rally on Saturday, June 14.
The demonstration will be held at Mariposa Basin Park, located at 4900 Kachina St. NW, and will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The rally is part of a coordinated national effort with demonstrations occurring across the country. Organizers state the event is a “national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption.”
Keynote speaker U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury, noted for her vocal stance on the DOGE Committee in Congress, will address the crowd.
The “No Kings Day” rally is being organized by several local groups including Albuquerque Indivisible, Sandoval County Indivisible, Rio Grande Indivisible, Third Act NM and 50501.
The event will also coincide with Flag Day. Organizers said they are committed to nonviolent action and encourage participants to de-escalate potential confrontations.
Law enforcement be at the ready! These protests are hardly ‘peaceful’.
I’ve been to most rallies in Albuquerque in the last 30 years and not one has been violent.
I see you are parroting rightwing media nonsense.
You are the agitator here. Expect peaceful rallies.
We can choose to be peaceful, and we must. Non-violence will always win in the end.
Look around for the last few months. The left always, and I mean always, resorts to violence.
January 6
All the evidence points to the FACT that demonstrations are nearly always peaceful. In LA, trump created the violence. Also, Jan 6 dude. Your people tried to overthrow the government and it ended p in the deaths of multiple police officers.
Tell that to the Capital Police
This rally must be peaceful. The more attention brought to the sleepy mainstreem media, the better. The administration deploys their own media to exploit the protesters. They are violent as part of their ploy to divide us. Peaceful it will be.
The agitators are ready to agitate. If one gets near you sit down and if everyone sits down around them that would be quite awkward, que no?
All these comments that state there is “ALWAYS” violence by the left, are deflecting. There can sometimes be violence initiated by “some” people, but they DON’T represent the values of most who come to “PEACEFULLY ” protest against injustice. There is proof right here that we will always face instigators who feed off of violence. They are not us. Protest in peace ✌️
Protesting peacefully is our constitutional right and part of a healthy democracy.
There is a KING who is readying His return to the throne of David, non other than the Lord Jesus Christ!
Stand by if you think Trump is a problem.
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
So, do or don’t bring the flag of Mexico or the Central American countries, to the rally? From the news this morning they really upset Stephen Miller.
Bob, I think flags from other countries express patriotism to those countries and are inappropriate. This is about freedom and unlawful deportation in the US. Although, doing something that upsets Steven Miller is hard to resist.
You’re drinking the Kool-aid my friend…..
I need to see your proof that it’s the left…from a reliable source please
