Staff report
Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas will feature “Joan Fenicle: In Praise of Clouds,” an exhibition of oil paintings by local artist Joan Fenicle, running from April 29 to May 25.
Fenicle’s work, inspired by the landscapes of Colorado and New Mexico, explores the theme of clouds as a connection between earth and the heavens. The exhibit is described as a tribute to the fleeting nature of existence, painted on canvas and mounted on birch panel.
A multi-media artist with roots in the Rocky Mountains, Fenicle draws inspiration from her upbringing and love of wandering the backroads of the West. Her work reflects a deep connection to the region and its stories.
An artist’s reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. Fenicle will also be present during the First Sunday ARTScrawl event on May 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wild Hearts Gallery, an artists’ collective of 15 local artists, is located at 221-B State Highway 165. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information can be found at wildheartsgallery.com.
