The City of Albuquerque will hold a “Defend ABQ Town Hall” with city leaders including Mayor Tim Keller this Sunday.

The town hall will include a discussion on how the City of Albuquerque is dealing with funding cuts, job cuts and other actions by the Donald Trump administration.

Albuquerque has a large federal workforce, including those who work at Sandia National Laboratories and Kirtland Air Force Base.

According to the city, Keller “will lead a presentation highlighting how the administration is holding true to our shared values, standing up for our most vulnerable residents, and ensuring people still receive the city services they rely on.”

Others attending the town hall will include city leadership in child development, housing and homelessness, sustainability and environmental health, minority business development, the Albuquerque Police Department and others.

Earlier this week, Keller called an executive order slashing funds for business development “a direct hit to the hardworking small businesses and families in Albuquerque.”

The town hall will take place Sunday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center.
