Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas is presenting Where the Heart Is, an exhibition of paintings by Colleen Z Gregoire next month.

The show will run from Feb. 4 through March 2 with an artist’s reception on Feb.8, from 1-3 p.m.

According to a press release, Gregoire’s work is inspired by the concept of home. Her paintings evoke a range of emotions and narratives, from joy and inspiration to serenity and reflection.

“Home is where one starts from,” writes T.S. Eliot. Gregoire expands on this idea, stating, “Home. Where you’ve come from; memories of family, friends, growing. Where you’ve returned to, even if it is for a short time, but where you are most comfortable for the moment. Most importantly, home implies a sense of belonging—a familiarity that brings stability to our existence. Home. It is indeed where the heart is.”

The public is invited to attend the artist’s reception to enjoy refreshments and meet Gregoire, who will also give a demonstration during the First Sunday ARTScrawl event on March 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
