Broadband provider Sparklight recently awarded a $5,000 grant to the Sandoval Academy of Bilingual Education (SABE) through the company’s Charitable Giving Fund. SABE was one of 24 nonprofits across Sparklight’s 24-state footprint that received grants totaling more than $125,000 during the most recent award period.
The Charitable Giving Fund, which awards $250,000 in grants annually, concentrates support in the following priority areas:
- Education and Digital Literacy
- Food Insecurity
- Community Development
SABE is a K-8 language school that teaches Spanish and English academic proficiency through language immersion. Using funds provided through this grant, SABE will purchase new devices and equipment to enhance its technology use.
“We are deeply grateful to Sparklight for their generous $5,000 grant,” said Tamara Wilburn, SABE Community School Coordinator. “This funding will directly support our afterschool program, allowing SABE students to further enhance their 21st-century skills. The partnership with Sparklight will provide all our students with valuable opportunities to strengthen their academic performance, digital literacy, and language proficiency in both English and Spanish.”
Nonprofit organizations may apply for grants during spring and fall open application periods. Applications for spring 2025 grants will be accepted between April 1 and 30. For more information about the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund, visit www.sparklight.com/charitablegiving.
