The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD), also known as the Blue Bus, teamed up with the Town of Edgewood, Edgewood Lions Club of New Mexico, Sandia Mountain Lions Club and East Mountain Food Pantry Dec. 14 to host a Stuff-The-Bus Event aimed at helping families in need during the holiday season.

The food drive, held at Smith’s in Edgewood, saw residents donate more than 1,200 items to benefit families in Edgewood who might have otherwise gone without this holiday season.

According to a press release, “the Blue Bus and its partners are committed to fostering a spirit of generosity and service in the community” and to make the holidays brighter for those in need.

Volunteers were on site to collect and load the donations onto the bus. The donations were then distributed to families in need through the East Mountain Food Pantry, ensuring they receive support in time for the holidays.
