A dear friend of mine, who like me is in their 70s compared our lives to a football game. Yes, he is one of those who watches every NFL game possible every week. We are in our fourth quarter of our lives heading towards the end of game whistle. Now I’m going to get to the point.
The town of Edgewood needs good people in their second and third quarters of life to step up and start running for office against our current commissioners.
Edgewood is your future, not mine. It is my present, but when I moved here it was a nice little town with a good government and I moved here to downsize and be closer to stores and doctors offices as I go through the fourth quarter of my life.
The more I go to town meetings and special public meetings, the more I realize our current batch of commissioners don’t all listen to what the people want. In my opinion, two of them do and three of them don’t.
Are you in the second or third quarter of your life? Is Edgewood in the future for you and your family? If so, can you step up and run for office? We need people to run for commissioner that have the best interest of Edgewood and our neighboring communities in mind. We are all in the same water table.
The next election may seem far away, but it is not.
