As a long-time east mountain resident, I believe we have to listen to the large group of Republican officials who are warning us that Donald Trump is unfit for office.  His own Vice President Mike Pence and former President George W. Bush’s Vice President Dick Cheney have both disavowed Donald Trump as a threat both here at home and as the U.S. continues its leadership in the world.  A list of over 100 prominent government security leaders, judges, top military personnel, former congressional officials and law enforcement officers have signed letters sounding the alarm that Donald Trump is dangerous and should never again hold the sacred power of our nation’s highest office.

I am a national non-profit leader who has worked on behalf of the well-being of children and families for more than 45 years.  I care deeply about America and our country’s rich cultural heritage of diversity which has always made us great through values of dignity, respect and decency. I believe our children are watching the decisions we make and the world we offer them.  Our children need leaders whom they can look up to as role models, carrying family values that we work hard to teach them at home.

No matter our different political affiliations, I think Kamala Harris will be a President that represents all of us to unite and heal the country. She is someone who will make every parent and grandparent proud to have her stand before our children as the President of our great United States of America.

I urge you to vote for Kamala Harris even if you have never voted Democrat before.  Please join other well-respected Republicans who are breaking with party to put our country first.
