Wild Hearts Gallery will feature Dorothy Bunny Bowen’s “Colors of Home” as its October exhibit.

According to a press release, the exhibit was inspired by all the places Bunny Bowen has called home.

“Expressed in Rozome, Japanese batik on kimono silk, each piece is bound with silk noil and suspended from local juniper branches and Colorado aspen which she peeled and finished,” the release said.

It will be on display Oct. 1 through 27.

Bowen’s textiles trace her path from the forests of Colorado to the high desert of New Mexico and the heights of the Sandias.

“Now I see that these four pieces represent my life journey through the seasons… this is my own winter,” Bowen said in the release.

Signed copies of Bowen’s work will be available during the exhibit.

An artist’s reception is set for 1-3 p.m. Oct. 5 followed by a Meet the Artist ARTScrawl vent  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6.

Wild Hearts Gallery is an artists’ collective supported by 15 local artists. Located at 221-B State Highway 165 in Placitas, the gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
