Beginning Friday, drivers on Bridge Boulevard SW near Isleta Boulevard SW will see changing traffic lanes.
This new traffic pattern will allow work to be done on Lansing Drive SW to Hartline Road SW. The project’s team is reminding drivers that the local businesses in the area are still open and can be accessed through Hardy Avenue SW off Isleta Boulevard SW.
Bernalillo County announced phase two of the Bridge Boulevard project is part of a larger, four-phase plan, to l improve the area. Phase two is expected to be completed by this fall. Phase three is currently in the planning stages.
Here is Bridge Boulevard’s phase two reconstruction schedule from July 7 – July 27.
The Bridge Boulevard SW and Isleta Boulevard SW intersection will experience a new traffic pattern as follows:
Bridge Boulevard Southwest:
- Bridge Boulevard SW westbound will have a through traffic lane and a dedicated southbound turn lane onto Isleta Boulevard SW.
- Bridge Boulevard SW eastbound will have a through traffic lane and a dedicated southbound turn lane onto Isleta Boulevard SE.
Isleta Boulevard Southwest:
- Isleta Boulevard SW northbound will now have a dedicated left turn lane and a dedicated right turn lane onto Bridge Boulevard SW.
La Vega Drive SW:
- Beginning Monday, July 15: La Vega Drive SW will be closed for approximately four weeks at Bridge Boulevard SW to allow underground utilities to be installed across the intersection. La Vega Drive SW traffic will be routed south to Hardy Avenue Southwest then to Isleta Boulevard SW.
- Currently, rehab work is being performed by the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Authority at Hardy Avenue SW and La Vega Drive SW. That work is expected to be completed by Monday, July 15.
