The Town of Edgewood is turning the ripe old age of 25.

The town has events planned all summer long to mark a big milestone, the anniversary of the town’s municipal incorporation on July 1, 1999.

Since would-be Edgewood voters cast their ballots to incorporate in 1998, the town has grown from just over 2,000 initial citizens to more than 6,000.

With help from volunteers and local businesses, Edgewood is hosting a summer of celebrations to mark its 25th anniversary. The kick-off event is Founders Day on July 1, which will bring together past and present town leaders and elected officials from state, county, and surrounding municipalities to mark this historic town milestone.
