Are you ‘gritty,’ ‘grizzled’ and ‘rough-around-the-edges?’ The casting directors for upcoming Ethan Coen film “Honey Don’t,” are scheduled to host a casting call Feb. 24 in Albuquerque.

The Focus Features dark comedy, which is shooting in the metro area, stars Margaret Qualley (“Poor Things”), Aubrey Plaza (“Parks and Recreation”) and Chris Evans (“Pain Hustlers”). The Academy Award winning Coen (“No Country for Old Men”) is directing from a script co-written with wife Tricia Cooke, who edited Coen Brothers classics like “The Big Lebowski” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Known for projects with brother Joel Coen, Ethan Coen began pursuing solo projects in 2022, with the documentary “Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind.” His last feature was the Western anthology “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” which received three Academy Award nominations.

The casting call is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Albuquerque Uptown, located at 7101 Arvada Ave. NE.

Assistant casting director Gabrielle Gaudette said they’re looking to fill speaking and non-speaking roles, as well as general background extras. The roles do not require any experience. She said participants should bring a current photo (that won’t be returned) if possible, and that minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“All types” and ages are welcome, but Gaudette said that the tone of the film is “gritty, grizzled, dusty, sunburnt, rural, Bakersfield, California.”
