Sandoval County Farmers & Irrigators Informational Meeting

Join the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD) board members and staff to discuss the 2024 Irrigation Season, scheduling, process, and a Q&A session. The meeting will take place on Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Martha Liebert Public Library. This meeting is open to the public. Silver Sneakers Fitness Class

Having a hard time looking for a fitness class that is the perfect combination of cardio and resistance training for seniors from ages 55 and up? Don’t worry, the Silver Sneakers Fitness Class has everything you need. The class is made for all levels of fitness. It doesn’t matter if your a beginner or a fitness guru this class will fit your needs. The class is offered year-round every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Star Heights Recreation Center. To register for this class please go to rrnm.gov/activenet. 

Father/Daughter Dance

Music, dancing, refreshments, and a night full of unforgettable memories. You can experience all of this at the 2024 Father/Daughter Sweetheart Dance, a Valentine dance spent with “Daddy’s Little Girl”. This dance will be held on Feb. 3 at the Sabana Grande Recreation Center. Fathers with daughters of the ages 5 to 8 can come down to dance from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and ages 9 to 12 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To secure your spot at the dance please register at rrnm.gov/activenet by Jan. 26. Each child and parent must register individually. 

After School Program

The Martha Liebert Public Library in Bernalillo will be holding an after school program to help students of all ages with homework and developing good study habits. The program is for children ages 5 to 18. However, children under 13 must have parental supervision and there are no drop offs allowed. The program is free and is held on Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Take advantage of this opportunity to start the school semester off right. 

Pet Foster Parents Needed

Calling all New Mexicans! The Sandoval County Animal Services is currently looking for folks to foster one or two of their dogs that they currently have in the shelter. The animal shelters kennels are currently full and more animals come in everyday. Sandoval County Animal Services needs your help as soon as possible. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent to some wonderful animals please email sandovalpets@sandovalcountynm.gov
